Kadai Pepper Masala

Kadai pepper masala is a healthy and delicious gravy which can be taken with plain white rice, roti and dosa. It helps to increase the strength of the body so it is recommended to take kadai once in a week. Everyone will start loving kadai once they taste it.
Let’s see how to prepare this delicious kadai pepper masala.


  • Kadai – 500 g
  • Oil – 6 tbsp
  • Onion – 5
  • Tomato – 4
  • Fennel seeds – 1/2 tbsp
  • Cloves – 4
  • Cinnamon – 1
  • Green Cardamom – 1
  • Kapok buds – 1
  • Ginger Garlic paste – 2 tbsp
  • Garam masala – 1 tbsp
  • Coriander powder – 1/2 tbsp
  • Cumin powder – 1/4 tbsp
  • Pepper powder – 1 tbsp
  • Chilli powder – 2 tbsp
  • Turmeric powder – 1/2 tbsp
  • Salt – To taste
  • Coriander leaves – few
  • Curry leaves – few
  • Water – Required Amount

For Marination

  • Kadai – 500 g
  • Home made chilli powder – 1/2 tbsp
  • Turmeric powder – 1/4 tbsp
  • Salt – 1/4 tbsp
  • First, wash Kadai with turmeric powder to get rid of the smell. Take a bowl and add the above things and then mix well. Now, marinate for 20 minutes.


1Heat the pan and then pour oil to the pan. Add cinnamon, cloves, kapok buds, green cardamom and finally fennel seeds.


2Now, add onions and fry till golden brown. Next, add the ginger garlic paste and sauté until raw smell goes off. Now add tomato and sauté well.


3Add garam masala powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, homemade chilli powder, turmeric powder, pepper powder, salt and mix all well.


4Now add the marinated kadai and sauté in medium flame for 3 minutes. Add 1 cup of water and allow it to boil.


5Add the coriander leaves and curry leaves and allow to cook until the gravy is thickened. Finally, add the crushed pepper and then mix well once again.


6Serve hot and spicy kadai pepper masala with garnished coriander leaves on top of it.
