Spicy Crab Masala
Crab is a power house of nutrients like protein, omega3 acids and selenium. Crab boost your immune system and do wonders for maintaining good health. We can make variety of recipes using crab.
Today we are going to make Spicy Crab Masala which is a mouth watering delicious dish. This recipe is a spicy treat especially for crab lovers. Crab masala is a thick masala paste which tastes fantastic with plain white rice. We can also have this gravy with roti and dosa.
Let’s see how to make this Spicy Crab masala in a very easy and tasty way.
- Crab – 1 kg
- Oil – 5 tbsp
- Fennel Seeds – 1/2 tbsp
- Cumin Seeds – 1/4 tbsp
- Onion – 5
- Tomato – 4
- Ginger Garlic Paste – 2 tbsp
- Kuzhambu Milagai Thool – 4 tbsp ( Chilli Powder )
- Turmeric Powder – 1 tbsp
- Pepper Powder – 1/2 tbsp
- Salt – 2 tbsp
- Curry Leaves – few
- Coriander leaves – 1/2 cup
- Coconut Pieces – 10 (grind as a thick paste with roasted fennel seeds – 1 cup)
- Water – Required Amount
1After cleaning the crab wash with lemon water to get rid off the smell.
2Heat a pan and then pour oil. Once the oil is hot, first add the fennel seeds and the cumin seeds and allow it to sizzle. Then add the curry leaves and let it sizzle.
3Now add the ginger garlic paste and saute it in low flame until raw smell goes off.
4Add onions and saute well. Now add tomatoes and saute them for a minute and then add salt so that it get cooked faster.
5Now add kuzhambu milagai thool (red chilli powder), turmeric powder, salt and mix well.
6Now add crabs to the masala and mix well so that the crabs are nicely coated with masala.
7Add required amount of water to the masala and allow it to cook. Now, Check for salt and close it with a lid and then cook until it becomes a nice gravy.
8Now add the finely grinded coconut paste to the masala and mix well.
9Add the fresh coriander leaves to the crab masala.
10Finally sprinkle Pepper Powder on the masala and mix them well.
11Hot and Spicy Crab Masala is ready to serve.
Crab Masala is a very good remedy for chest cold.
